Dave is a 1977 graduate of Northview High School and earned a Bachelor Of Arts degree in "Risk & Insurance" from Michigan State University in 1981.  Dave has over 35 years of insurance experience and holds the following professional designations:

Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)
Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI)
Licensed Insurance Counselor (LIC)

Dave enjoys golf, basketball, tennis, skiing, spending time with family and friends, and helping bring financial security to our clients.

Derek Boer

Derek graduated from Forest Hills Northern High School in 2005 and Michigan State University in 2009, where he earned a Bachelors and a Masters in Accounting.  Derek moved from Michigan to New York City in 2010 where he worked as a CPA at Ernst & Young and Jane Street Capital, an investment firm dedicated to active risk management.

Derek brings to Boer Insurance Group the same passion and commitment expected of him by the global companies he worked for in New York City as well as the friendly, compassionate demeanor he acquired growing up in West Michigan.  Derek enjoys spending time with his wife Paige and their dog Kahlua (who is often found snoring on his desk), golfing, fishing, and watching Michigan State basketball and football games.

Brian graduated from Forest Hills Northern High School in 2005 and Michigan State University in 2009, where he earned a Bachelors and a Masters in Accounting.  After graduation, Brian started his career as a CPA at BDO in Grand Rapids, MI before moving to Toronto and joining Ernst & Young as a Manager. 

Brian's passion for protecting the public and his dedication to client service brought him back to Grand Rapids and to Boer Insurance Group.  Brian enjoys traveling with his wife, Kristin, training his dog, Jarvis, snowboarding, golf, watersports, and being outdoors.

JEFF GROOMS

Jeff graduated from West Catholic High School and then studied at Grand Valley State University, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Legal Studies.  After graduation, Jeff moved to Chicago to work in environmental processing for a contractor at Ford Motor Company.  While in Chicago, Jeff began working for a national insurance company with which he later transferred back to Grand Rapids.  Jeff's passion for serving West Michigan brought him to Boer Insurance Group.  Jeff has held his Insurance License since 2011.  

Jeff brings valuable insurance experience, along with a broad industry perspective, to our team.  He enjoys spending time with his son, Elliot, and his wife, Mallory.  Jeff has played rugby since college and enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and all year-round outdoor activities.

Brian graduated from West Catholic High School in 1987 and then attended Davenport University, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Business.  Much of Brian's career has been in the finance and insurance industries.  Brian leverages his experience at Chase Investment Services and a number of large, national insurance companies to bring a devotion to client service and extensive industry knowledge to Boer Insurance Group.  Brian has held a Michigan Insurance License since 2006.

Brian attained the rank of Eagle Scout and enjoys golf, skiing, construction projects, biking, and spending time with his family.

SUE HALL

Sue is our friendly receptionist, skillful bookkeeper, and client support specialist.  She has been a valuable member of our team since 1996.  Sue is in the office Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 

At home, Sue enjoys spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren.  She is active in her church and sings in the choir.  She enjoys road trips in the fall with her husband Randy to take in the changing colors.
